Nostalgia

Nostalgia on the last day of the longest winter ever...

I miss the sun, I miss the heat.

Frozen from the inside out.
                                         Frost Bites...
  Frozen from the inside out.
Nostalgia on the last day of the coldest winter ever.
I miss the Sun, I miss the Heat.
Because there's nothing more Beautiful than the Silhouette of a Palm Tree.

I apologize for the horrible faces, but it was 20 degrees outside, bare with me, and I insisted on doing this shoot that morning. The official last day of winter was a bit of a relief, even though it's been about 2 weeks since and the weather in NYC has not gotten much better. When I saw this palm tree printed dress on lulus I fell in love! I love this tropical print trend, it is a hit for me because my heart is always somewhere tropical. The washed out colors of the print made me nostalgic instantly. How much I truly missed what my soul constantly longs for, heat in the air, struck me. These suede shoes by Joe's Jeans, perfect transition from a rough winter, so comfortable, so chic, so easy to wear.
Winters are always rough for me, but this one has changed everything. So many changes, so much transition, so much of the uncommon, so much I can't change, so much adjusting to new sails. So much of me bruised with frost bites to my heart, pieces of me dying off. My body slowing ridding itself of what once was, that no longer is good for me. The Universe screaming at me, get ready, detox your soul, there is so much new, so much good ahead, wash away. My skin is pale, crumbly, feels worn. Make up won't hide the dark that surrounds my vision. I curl up like a caterpillar waiting to transform.
LET GO.
You can't control the weather, learn to be one with the wind.
There will always be storms, but the Sun is always shining somewhere.
My soul; the Sun; warmth from my core, rays pour through my pores, ready to glow.
And so then Nostalgia isn't such a bad trip anymore. More of a journey of acceptance, of appreciation, of understanding of growth of transition, that everything happens for a reason.
Trust your universe, it's perfect timing.
Memories take us back, Dreams push us forward.
Goodbye Winter, Goodbye Cold.
Goodbye March, Goodbye Snow.
Thank You Nostalgia.
I'm Ready to Grow.
